The Tudors Experience Day
Step carefully… you’re entering the 16th century.
Queen Elizabeth I is on the throne, the country appears prosperous, and England is becoming a powerful nation. But step off the main road, and Tudor life can be harsh, noisy, smelly — and dangerous.
For many people, survival is a daily struggle. Even wealth offers no guarantees. In Tudor England, comfort can disappear as quickly as your fortunes change… and keeping your head firmly on your shoulders is sometimes a matter of politics as much as luck.
To navigate the muddy, winding streets safely, you’ll need a guide.
Meet Christopher, a Tudor playwright. He moves between all levels of society — from the poorest labourers to the richest nobles — gathering stories, gossip, and inspiration. Through him, you’ll discover how different Tudor life could be depending on who you were and where you stood.
If you’re fortunate, you might attend school. Education is a privilege, not a right, and learning to read and write sets you apart from most people you’ll meet.
But danger is never far away. Disease spreads quickly through crowded towns, and if you fall ill, the cures on offer might worry you more than the sickness itself. Doctors, barber-surgeons, and apothecaries all promise help — but would you trust them?
As you move through Tudor society, stay alert. Thieves and criminals lurk in busy streets and marketplaces. If they’re caught, punishment is swift and public. Without modern entertainment, crowds gather to watch justice being done — and for many, it’s considered a day out.
So, steel yourself. Watch your purse. Mind your manners.
Welcome to the world of the Tudors.

"Stephen's interaction with the children made it so fun and exciting for them."

We can accommodate a wide range of group sizes, provided there is:
a clear hall with sufficient space for movement-based activities
appropriate staffing to remain with pupils throughout the day
Special Educational Needs (SEN / SEND)
Our experience days are designed to be inclusive, flexible, and engaging.
To ensure all pupils can take part safely, schools are asked to provide appropriate staffing and any specialist support required for individual needs. As we bring a range of physical props and equipment that are integral to the workshop, suitable supervision is essential.
We have worked successfully with specialist SEND settings and high-needs groups. If your pupils require additional adaptations, we are very happy to discuss this in advance and advise on how best to deliver an excellent experience.
