Stone Age Experience Day
Today, you’re travelling back over 5,000 years — to a time before metal, before writing, and before farming as we know it.
When you arrive in the Stone Age, you’ll meet Marek, a hunter from the Neolithic period. He’ll guide you through the skills, choices, and dangers faced by early humans, and challenge you to think about what life was really like when survival depended on teamwork, problem-solving, and good decision-making.
You will be split into tribes, working together to earn points throughout the day. Will you hunt successfully? Will your foraging provide enough food? And can your tribe survive the challenges ahead?
As we travel through the day, you’ll begin to understand just how far back the Stone Age sits on the timeline compared to modern life. You’ll explore how we know about the past, how archaeologists piece together evidence, and what early tools and discoveries tell us about where humans came from.
You won’t just hear about the Stone Age — you’ll see and handle replica tools and weapons, from stone-tipped arrows and antlers to fire lighting equipment, learning how they were made, used, and relied upon.
Your choices matter. Some decisions will help your tribe thrive; others may put survival at risk. By the end of the day, you’ll have stepped into the shoes of early humans and experienced first-hand the challenges of life in the Stone Age.

"The (stone age) day was so interactive. I loved Marek showing the children all of the different artefacts and watching the children be immersed in it all."

We can accommodate a wide range of group sizes, provided there is:
a clear hall with enough space for movement-based activities
sufficient staffing to support pupils throughout the day
Special Educational Needs (SEN / SEND)
Our experience days are designed to be inclusive, flexible, and engaging.
To ensure all pupils can take part safely, we ask that schools provide the appropriate staffing and any specialist support required for individual needs. As we bring a range of physical props and equipment that are integral to the day, maintaining appropriate supervision is essential.
We have worked successfully with specialist SEND settings and high-needs groups. If your pupils require additional adaptations, we are very happy to discuss this in advance and advise on how we can provide the best possible experience.
What do we need to run the day?
To deliver a high-quality, immersive Stone Age Experience Day, we require:
secure on-site parking
exclusive use of a school hall for the duration of the day
